Call for Papers – “Visualization of the invisible”

Guest Editors: Lars Harrie and Terje Midtbø

Many geographical phenomena are visible for humans, while others may be hidden or are invisible by nature. By using visualization methods, the “invisible” may become visible and more understandable. These representations may illustrate a phenomenon in a natural or in a symbolic way. They may be partly visible, or only visible at certain times. The visualizations may be intended for non-experts and experts alike. This special issue will focus on the “geovisualization” part of the Journal’s title, where special attention is given to innovative methods for visualization of phenomena that are less visible on the surface of the earth. This includes both static and dynamic visualizations, as well as visualizations in 2D and 3D. The special Issue is open for contributions related but not limited to the following topics: Geology, Climate, Pollution, Various weather phenomena, Traffic, Subsea phenomena, Radiation, Cadaster, Noise, Economic factors, Urban emotion.

Manuscripts can be submitted under the following link.

The topical collection (special issue) will be closed on 30 March 2020.
